MARKETS - PRICE & QUALITY
Markets are very different. Maybe you know very well your intended market (target market). On the price list you will see that there is many different qualities for alpaca fiber quality and alpaca blends. In short we suggest that you use the next table:
High end yarns- Baby Royal Alpaca (100% baby royal alpaca)
- Baby Alpaca + Silk (50% baby alpaca, 50% silk)
- Baby Alpaca (100% baby alpaca)
Standard yarns- AlpaMix (20% baby alpaca, 20% suri alpaca, 60% super fine alpaca fleece)
- Baby Alpaca + Acrylic (70% baby alpaca, 30% acrylic)
- AlpaBoom (40% super fine alpaca, 10% wool, 50% acrylic)
Economic yarns- AlpaAngora (10% baby alpaca, 10% suri alpaca, 30% standard alpaca fleece, 50% acrylic "angora rabbit" like)
- AlpaZeta (60% standard alpaca, 10% wool, 30% acrylic)
- AlpaEasy (20% super fine alpaca, 5% wool, 75% acrylic)
- AlpaEsse (30% standard alpaca, 70% acrylic)
- AlpaUrus (20% alpaca, 80% acrylic)
- AlpaCuzco (10% alpaca, 90% acrylic)
The price is according to the quality of the materials used: a 100% baby alpaca "V neck" sweater can be US$39 and the same sweater knitted on "AlpaCuzco" yarn (10% alpaca, 90% acrylic) is just US$10. Price is not related only to the amount of alpaca fiber, the 2nd factor is the quality of the alpaca fiber (we have baby, SF or FS, Huarizo and AG) and the 3rd factor is the quality of the other components of the blend (if it is a blend!): not all acrylics are the same, not all synthetics are the same. Price is not related to the "comfort" or"easiness" of the garment over the skin. An garment made with "AlpaCuzco" is soft because we use a good acrylic. But it is not so warm as a 100% alpaca, and it is not so soft as a 100% baby alpaca! Wedon't have bad products or bad yarns.
A bad product occurs only when you mix in wrong way "product, characteristics, price" with "marketneeds". Only then you have a bad product.
